Walking Holidays on Oxford Canal Towpath in UK with Let's Go Walking The Oxford Canal is one of England's most peaceful waterways and the walk on this section of the towpath is a distance of 56 miles from Banbury to the cathedral city of Coventry.
The route can be walked in either direction and for those looking for a longer walking holiday can combine with the section of the Oxford Canal Towpath from Oxford to Banbury.

Day 2: Banbury to Fenny Compton                 13 miles
Day 3: Fenny Compton to Upper Shuckburgh 13 miles
Day 4: Upper Shuckburgh to Hillmorton         11 miles
Day 5: Hillmorton to Brinklow                        8 miles
Day 6: Brinklow to Coventry                         11 miles
Day 7: Depart after breakfast
This is an excellent way to explore the industrial heritage and see the beauty of the North Oxforshire countryside, abundant wildlife and birdlife, as well as picturesque villages and wild flowers. Utilizing the towpath all the way, this predominently level walk passes over some of the canal's many stone, wooden and iron bridges, through a tunnel and past 43 locks.
