The Oxford Canal is one of England's most peaceful waterways and the walk on the towpath is a distance of 85 miles which links the cathedral cities of Oxford and Coventry.
The route can be walked in either direction and for those looking for a longer walking holiday it can be linked to a
walking holiday on the Thames Path or the Shakespeares Way.

Day 1: Arrive at Oxford

Day 2: Oxford to Kirtlington                        10 miles
Day 3: Kirtlington to Clifton                         11 miles
Day 4: Clifton to Banbury                             7.5 miles
Day 5: Banbury to Fenny Compton                 13 miles
Day 6: Fenny Compton to Upper Shuckburgh 13 miles

This is an excellent way to explore the industrial heritage and see the beauty of the North Oxforshire countryside, abundant wildlife and birdlife, as well as picturesque villages and wild flowers. Utilizing the towpath all the way, this predominently level walk passes over some of the canal's many stone, wooden and iron bridges, through a tunnel and past 43 locks. Suggested Tour Duration:
