We offer this 18 day itinerary on The Hebridean Way as a 171 mile way-marked walking trail. The route can be walked in either direction
but our suggested itinerary is from south to north as described in the Cicerone guide book.

This self guided Scottish walking holiday in Scotland's Outer Hebrides crosses 10 islands linked by 6 causeways and 2 ferries. The Hebridean Way passes through rugged hills, along dazzling white shell beaches and across miles and miles of open moorland.
Some days you walk-in and walk-out of your accommodations. Some days you are transferred to your accommodation from the end of your walking stage and transferred back the following morning.

Day 1: Transfer from Castlebay ferry terminal or Barra airport to accommodation in Castlebay
Day 2: Vatersay to Tangasdale on Barra  7 miles moderate, stay Castlebay
Day 3: Tangasale to North Bay on Barra  7 miles moderate, stay Castlebay
Day 4: ferry to Eriskay, walk to Dalabrog on South Uist  10 miles easy
Day 5: Dalabrog to Howmore on South Uist 11 miles easy
Day 6: Howmore to Lochcarnon on South Uist  10 miles easy
Day 7: Lochcarnon to Balivanich on Benbecula  11 miles
Day 8: Balivanich to Carinish on North Uist 10 miles
Day 9: Carinish to Lochmaddy on North Uist 12 miles
Optional Days: in Lochmaddy
Day 10: Lochmaddy to Bernerary 11 miles
                    option to take ferry at the end of day's walking to Leverburgh for overnight
                    to enable extra days for visit to St Kilda (cost of day trip not included)

Day 11: ferry to Leverburgh, walk to Horgabost on Harris 10 miles
Day 12: Horgabost to Lacklea on Harris 7 miles moderate, stay Tarbert
Day 13: Lacklea to Tarbet on Harris 10 miles moderate
Day 14: Tarbet to Ardvourlie on Harris 10 miles moderate
Day 15: Ardvourlie to Bailie Ailein on Lewis 12 miles moderate
Day 16: Bailie Ailen to Achamore on Lewis 10 miles moderate, stay Stornoway
Day 17: visit to Callanish Standing Stones, then bus back to Achamore
                and walk to Stornoway on Lewis 7 miles easy

cancellation, personal accident, additional accommodation arising out of ferry cancellations, illness and loss/theft of personal possessions and/or money.
Should ferries included in your holiday package be cancelled or delayed Let's Go Biking Ltd will endeavour to arrange alternative accommodation which may be subject to additional charges.
We will also arrange onward land transfers (where appropriate) as we deem required to enable you to continue your holiday as originally scheduled.
