islands, a haven for wildlife and bird life, are very quiet and peaceful, making it an ideal location for a walking holiday. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Our walking tour starts off with a ferry ride from Oban to Islay. The first
day's walking is on Islay, a Whisky lovers paradise, followed by a day trip
to the Island of Jura. Then you walk for 3 days on Arran, known as "Scotland
in Miniature" because the scenery has all that the whole of Scotland
is famous for: dramatic coastlines, glens, rolling pastures and mountains
(highest 950m). The clean waters and air have made this area a classic location for many famous malts, such names as Oban, Isle of Jura, Bunnahahain, Bruichladdich, Laphroaic, Ardbeg, Bowmore to name but a few. |
